Summary line : Off-grid solar power bringing reliable electricity to two rural health facilities serving over 10,000 residents in Magadi Ward, Kajiado.

In partnership with Renewable World and the County Government of Kajiado, AIS installed 6kW off-grid solar systems at Musenke and Oldepe Dispensaries in Magadi Ward — facilities located 42km from the national grid, serving over 10,000 residents.

The systems now provide reliable electricity for critical healthcare services, including maternity, outpatient, and well-baby care. To extend the impact into the wider community, AIS also introduced productive-use solutions: a solar refrigerator, a barber kit, and a mobile charging station. The excess power generated now creates additional revenue to support the dispensaries’ ongoing operations.
